FAQ’s

Here you will find answers to some of the most common questions regarding live event painting. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, please submit an Inquiry Form.

  • Once your inquiry is in my inbox, I will do my best to respond with my availability within a week. We'll discuss some of the basics through email, I'll look over any moodboards you send my way, and I'll provide you with a copy of my live painting contract.
We'll then have a little get-to-know-each-other phone chat. You can ask me any questions about the contract and process and I'll collect some info for your future painting.
A deposit of 25% of your chosen package and your signed contract are what officially secure your event date!
We'll reconnect within a month of your wedding and go over our plan and any changes. Once we do, you will be billed the remaining 75%, which is due before your wedding. And then we have arrived at the big day! See the next FAQ,

  • It depends on the scene you’ve chosen to have painted! I usually arrive 2-3 hours early at the location to scout out the right composition to fit the package you’ve chosen. If you’ve given me the reins, we’ll have a casual 15-25 minute portrait photography session, generally after the ceremony, to capture our reference image of you at your beautiful venue. I love finding gorgeous lighting and witnessing you two in your little love bubble!

If you’ve chosen a specific moment, ie, first kiss on the altar, heading down the aisle, first dance, etc, I’ll arrive early to find the best angles and lighting, I’ll then witness your ceremony, and capture the moment to be painted on camera. Even if I’m painting a moment from your reception I love witnessing your ceremony, if you’re open to me being present. It helps me start to get familiar with the visual details of you, your outfits, and personalities!

  • I bring almost everything, a french easel, easel light, and all tools of the trade. All I require is access to a power source to plug in my easel light, water for my brush jar, and a small table if the venue can supply one. I will communicate with the venue or your day of coordinator to make sure everything is in place.

  • I am focusing on serving the Hudson Valley in 2024. However I am absolutely open to any location! Drive time to venues within an hour from Stone Ridge, NY is included in all packages. Travel outside a 50 mile radius of Stone Ridge, NY will be $.50 per mile both to and from venue. Over two and a half hours traveling requires lodging for night of event or compensation equal to that of current local hotel costs. Over four hours traveling may require lodging for the night before event and night of event or compensation equal to that of current local hotel costs for both. Extra travel costs may include tolls, airfare, and other forms of required transportation.

  • It entirely depends on the live wedding package you’ve chosen! For live events I set up and begin composing and painting 2-3 hours before guests arrive. I will then performance paint for 4-8 hours, depending on the package. The painting will then travel back to the studio with me. I’ll put in the extra hours to truly make it sing, email the client a photo, and once approved, varnish the piece. The artwork will be hand delivered or shipped within 4-8 weeks of the event. Shipping is complimentary.

  • Every live painting is created using archival professional grade acrylic paint. My paint box is filled with the brands Sennelier, Golden, and Liquitex. The work is painted on gallery-wrapped (1.5” profile) stretched cotton canvas and sealed with Liquitex Professional Gloss Varnish to protect the surface and resist dirt retention.

  • If you’d like to find a beautiful frame to compliment your piece, please do! However, framing is not required to immediately hang the artwork in your home. The sides of the stretched canvas are finished cleanly. If you choose a frame, glass is not necessary as the gloss varnish protects the painting. As with any work of art, avoid placing it in an area that receives direct sunlight, which could cause the paint to fade gently over time.

  • Certainly! Inquire for any event that you want to enrich with an artist creating on site. I’d love to paint for your gala, fundraising event, local business, corporate event, ceremony, or celebration of any kind! I will tailor the experience to you, your guests, and theme.

  • Yes! See Commission for further information and to send your inquiry.
